Last Day of School

Yesterday was the last day of school. I was happy that the year had come to an end, yet sad to see all of my students go. I wish them all the best! Teaching at P.S. 30 has been a wonderful experience that I will always remember.

Marc brought Kailer in for the kids to see and to help me say goodbye. She loved having all the kids around her and did so well with the screaming chaos that accompanies the last day of school!

Tonia took this shot. Great job!

Nine Months Old

This is her new face.

Using mom as a jungle gym.

Look, no hands!

THIS is more like it. She has been quite the stinker lately!
.
Kailer is nine months now and getting more mobile by the day. She has even relatively maintained her weight over the last few months because she is so active (don't worry, she is still in the 90th percentile)! She still army crawls by choice when on the carpet, but crawls when she crosses over to the hardwood floor. She has been pulling herself up on everything and has even mastered "standing" on her knees with no hands. I tried to get a few nice photos, but she wouldn't sit still for five seconds. She has been quite the B-R-A-T lately. I am hoping it is temporary and that there will be teeth following real soon!

All Ready To Go!

You guys are going to take me with you right?

We started packing this week for our big move. Kailer enjoyed playing in her diaper box that I intended to pack items in. It was just the right size! It kept her busy and allowed me to pack without her pulling the items right back out. Back to Michigan we go in just five more days!

Look What I Can Do!

For the last three weeks or so, Kailer has been pulling herself up on everything! The couch, her crib, the television stand...everything! Most of the time it is to her knees, but there has been a few instances that she has pulled herself up to a standing position.

Let me out!

Happy Father's Day

It was a fairly laid back first Father's Day in our household. Kailer and I got up and made breakfast (or so I tried) for Marc. We woke him up with breakfast in bed and Kailer had a card for him signed with her hand print. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and packing for our upcoming move! Only two more weeks!

Kailer can't get enough of the laundry basket. As long as it is not a toy...she will play with it!

We tried the Baby Einstein videos again today. Kailer wasn't too interested the last time we watched them. I have been noticing that every time there is music on the T.V. she drops what she is doing and diverts her attention in its direction. I sat her in her Bumbo to prevent her from climbing up the T.V. stand and she sat through almost the entire movie. She swayed back and forth, clapped, and even "talked" to the animals as you will see in the following clip.

Photos in Central Park

While Meghan was in town, we were lucky enough to have her take Kailer's pictures in Central Park. Kailer wasn't really cooperating, but Meghan still managed to do a great job. The park was such a beautiful backdrop! Thanks Meghan!

She kind of looks like she is posing here. What a goober:)

Our first family photo!

Meghan and the City

Rockefeller Center.

Meghan and I took a break in Bryant Park after a long day and 95 degree weather! It was such a beautiful view!

Grand Central Station all lit up at night.

My friend Meghan came to visit this past weekend from Terra Haute, Indiana. She picked a hot weekend to come. New York City was experiencing the first heat wave of the year with a heat index of over a 100 degrees for three days straight! We didn't let that stop us (although it did slow us down a bit) and we managed to fit in all the sites. We mostly just walked around while Meghan (a photographer) snapped photos. Kailer went out for a little while, but returned to the air-conditioned apartment with dad. He was so great to watch her while I frolicked around the city. What a guy! It was the first time that Meghan had met both Kailer and Marc. We were so happy that she was able to come out. We had such a great time!

Bronx Zoo

Kailer enjoyed her first trip to the zoo! She may have not been aware of where she was, but it was on our list of things to do before we left the city.

She was more interested in the kids than the animals.

Kailer riding the praying mantis on the bug carousel.

She loved when it went up and down! We had to keep the pacifier in because she kept trying to lick the pole!

Marc even rode the beetle next to her. What a good dad:)

She got to take a closer look at the petting zoo.

We rode the monorail around the Asian Forest to see the elephants and red panda.

Kailer Laughing Hysterically

Here is a video that I forgot to post from when my mom was visting over Memorial Day. It was taken in the bathroom at F.A.O. Scwartz. Kailer began laughing hysterically as I pushed down on the paper towel dispenser. She kept it up long enough for me to get it on film!

Memorial Day Visitors

A nice view of Belvedere Castle in Central Park.

Hayleigh and Kailer on top of the castle.

Kailer catching some shut eye. She was such a trooper!

Walking the notorious Brooklyn Bridge.

Kailer's first visit to the Statue of Liberty.

For the long holiday weekend my mother, Tanna, and Hayleigh all came for a visit. We only had three days, but mangaged to see a lot! We even went to the MOMA and walked the Brooklyn Bridge, which were two things I had never even done. We had such a good time. It was so neat seeing New York City through Hayleigh's eyes and point of view. Everything was "awesome!"
