Visiting Sarah and Ben

Last week, Kailer and I visited Sarah and Ben at their house in Howell. It was so nice to catch up with Sarah while Kailer and Ben played. They were so cute! Ben couldn't stop giving her kisses! I didn't manage to get one of the kisses on camera, but I did get a few cute pictures of them playing.

Kailer loved playing with all of Ben's toys (he did such a good job sharing too).

Yum...trucks!

Ten Months Old

Right before she tried to take a big bite:)

Look at me clap!

Are we done yet?
.
Sorry this post is a little delayed, but Kailer was a bit under the weather last week. I took her to the doctor with a spiked temp to find out that she had an ear infection and strep throat! The following five days were miserable on us all, but she is back to her old self again. I decided to take advantage of Grandpa's beautiful landscaping to take her ten months pictures. I had to take them quick because sitting still is a thing of the past. She is always on the move pulling herself up and cruising around the furniture. She is loving it here in Michigan! She is constantly surrounded by family, which means mom and dad get some free time. I have managed to get a girl's night out and Marc has been able to go fishing a few times:) Not too long and we will be celebrating a first birthday...yikes!

Froggy Pool

.
.

Last week Kailer got to enjoy her froggy pool for the first time. She loved it and in fact was a little too brave! She certainly looked cute in her bikini! I can't wait to get her back in next week when she is feeling better.

Camping at Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Waiting for the fireworks to start.

A beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan.

Silver Lake Park Lighthouse.

Renee and Tyler.

Kailer playing in the sand.

She didn't like it when Marc stuck her feet in the lake.

Kailer's first time in a pool.

Marc ready to hit the dunes on the four-wheeler.

She looked like such a big girl sitting in the chair.

Hanging out with Uncle Ty in his big red truck.

We hadn't been back one week and we took Kailer from one extreme to the next. From New York City to the great outdoors! We had such a good time camping with my family at Silver Lake. It was something my family and I always did growing up and it was great to be able to include Kailer this year. She did very well and was a trooper through the cold nights, layers of sunscreen, and mosquito bites!

Coney Island

The day before we left New York City, I convinced Marc that it would be a good idea to go down to Coney Island. He wasn't too keen on the idea, but it was my last day there so he suffered through it. After and hour ride down, we only ended up sitting on the beach for about a half an hour because Kailer was really cranky (it was nap time - poor planning on my part). We walked up and down the boardwalk and headed back home to Astoria to finish our last minute packing! We managed to get a few pictures...but all she wanted to do was eat her sunglasses and her smiles were scarce:(

Last Day of School

Yesterday was the last day of school. I was happy that the year had come to an end, yet sad to see all of my students go. I wish them all the best! Teaching at P.S. 30 has been a wonderful experience that I will always remember.

Marc brought Kailer in for the kids to see and to help me say goodbye. She loved having all the kids around her and did so well with the screaming chaos that accompanies the last day of school!

Tonia took this shot. Great job!

Nine Months Old

This is her new face.

Using mom as a jungle gym.

Look, no hands!

THIS is more like it. She has been quite the stinker lately!
.
Kailer is nine months now and getting more mobile by the day. She has even relatively maintained her weight over the last few months because she is so active (don't worry, she is still in the 90th percentile)! She still army crawls by choice when on the carpet, but crawls when she crosses over to the hardwood floor. She has been pulling herself up on everything and has even mastered "standing" on her knees with no hands. I tried to get a few nice photos, but she wouldn't sit still for five seconds. She has been quite the B-R-A-T lately. I am hoping it is temporary and that there will be teeth following real soon!
