Emma and Alli looking so grown up.

First attempt to get a group shot. Take a look at Kailer's face and you can tell she was determined for us not to get the shot.

Second attempt at a group shot. Notice Kailer is STILL not looking at the camera. Sorry guys:) What a cute group!

The Tecumseh Pit

Last week Marc and I attempted to take Kailer to the Splash Pad, but it was out of service. Already dressed in her suit, we decided to take her to The Pit. She enjoyed playing with her toys in the shallow water with Daddy. Afterwards, we played on the playground too. By the end she was a wet, sandy mess but she sure did have fun!

What Did I Do?

I was sitting on the couch reading a magazine the other day when Kailer decided to grab one and have a seat too. The magazine that she just so happened to grab was a Lucky magazine which has stickers inside to mark the pages. I looked over to see Kailer placing these stickers all over her body. I let her go at it for a few minutes to see just how many she would place upon herself. She used every last sticker! The pictures were too cute not to share ;)

Enjoying the Summer Sun

.

Kailer loves being outside. The warm weather we have been having has been perfect for pool time. She would play in her froggy pool all day if I would let her. Yesterday I took Kailer to the Toledo Zoo to see the new children's zoo. It is amazing, but the place was a MAD HOUSE! Kailer insisted on walking instead of riding in her stroller and she did just that. I was surprised she lasted the entire time. I didn't get many pictures because I had my hands full with her demonstrating her independence:) We will definitely return when the novelty of the exhibit wears off a little bit.

Father's Day Game

For Father's Day this year we went with my family to a Tiger's game. Detroit won, the weather was perfect, and Kailer was very well behaved. All in all it was a great day. Happy Father's Day!

Welcome Gabriel

Welcome Gabriel Frederick Abbott! The Abbott Family welcomed their newest addition on June 8th. Kailer and I had the pleasure of meeting Gabe last week. He is absolutely adorable and reminds me so much of Ben when he was little. Congratulations Abbott Family!

Mackinac Island

With school out for the summer, we hit the road and headed for Mackinac Island for a quick family vacation. Unfortunately, our first day there it rained all day and the temperature only peaked at 46 degrees. Needless to say, we made good use of the hotel pool the first day. Kai absolutely loves the water. She had so much fun splashing around and floating in her fish. She was none too happy when it was time to get out!

The second day it was still pretty cool, but no rain! We walked around town, drove up into the U.P., and went down to get a better view of the bridge. Kai didn't seem to mind the cool temperatures. She had a blast walking the beach and collecting rocks.

Our final day there we had perfect weather. We spent the day on the island walking around and taking in all of the beautiful scenery.

I had the need to see Arch Rock, but this wasn't such an easy task with a toddler. Marc had to carry her all the way up the 200+ stairs. What a trooper! The view was worth it (easy for me to say).

I had to take Kailer's picture in front of this anchor. I have a picture of myself when I was her age in the exact same spot.

.

On our way home we stopped at a roadside beach for Kailer to play in the sand. It was a good way to break up the long drive. She had fun drawing in the sand and skipping rocks with daddy.

Memorial Day Weekend

Waiting patiently for the Memorial Day Parade to begin.

Preparing Kai's Elmo kite to fly behind Nonnie and Papa's house.

Showing daddy where her kite should be.

And they are off...wait for me!

Attempting to go UP the slide.

Not as crazy about the swings as she was last year.
